Danielle Strauss, M.D.
Dr. Strauss is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases of the retina and vitreous. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where she received her bachelor's degree in English with high departmental honors. She was accepted to the Mount Sinai School of Medicine through its prestigious Humanities in Medicine Program and received her MD with distinction for research in ophthalmology.
After completing her internship at Maimonides Medical Center, Dr. Strauss pursued her residency and surgical training in ophthalmology at New York University Medical Center/ Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital. She completed her education with a 2-year sub-specialization fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where she received a research award for most outstanding project completed by a fellow.
Over the course of her training, Dr. Strauss has published over a dozen peer reviewed publications, and has presented her research at numerous national meetings including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Specialists, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
