Exceptional
Patient
Care
practice
General
Ophthalmologists
Most
eye
surgeons
are
generalists
and
spend
their
time
performing
eye
exams
and
treating
simple
eye
conditions.
Despite
their
surgical
training,
they
perform
few
surgical
procedures.
This
approach
may
have
worked
in
the
past,
however
today,
with
the
explosion
of
medical
knowledge
that
has
occurred
in
the
past
several
decades,
it
is
impossible
for
the
general
eye
surgeon
to
provide
a sophisticated
level
of
care
in
all
areas.
Today
recognized
areas
of
subspecialty
eye
care
include
Retina,
Glaucoma,
Cataract,
Oculoplastics,
Refractive
surgery,
Cornea,
Neuroophthalmology
and
Pediatrics. | |
