Dr. Grayson is a Magna cum Laude graduate of Brown University, where he completed a seven year medical program and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and an A.B. in Computer Science. He received his medical degree from Brown University Medical School where he earned several academic honors. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He pursued his residency in Ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he completed extensive training in phacoemulsification suture-less cataract surgery and received an award for outstanding research in glaucoma. He continued his education with a fellowship in the prestigious medical and surgical glaucoma program at the same institution.
A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Grayson is a fellow of several professional associations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Grayson is an attending surgeon at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center.
Dr. Grayson is the developer of the PhacoTilt technique for phaco emulsification cataract surgery and is the inventor of five instruments used in cataract surgery around the world. He lectures extensively to ophthalmologists and optometrists throughout the United States on PhacoTilt. Dr. Grayson is a frequent contributor to many ophthalmology journals and is a member of several editorial boards. The prestigious Castle Connolly Guide has consistently selected Dr. Grayson as one of the top eye surgeons in the New York Metro Area.
Dr. Grayson is one of the region’s most experienced glaucoma and cataract specialists and limits his practice exclusively to the care and treatment of patients with these diseases.
