Edward W. Harmer, O.D.

Dr. Harmer graduated from St. Peter’s College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1971.  He completed his optometric training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1975.  Dr. Harmer joined Omni Eye Services as Clinical Director, The Dry Eye Center of Excellence at Omni Eye Services, West Orange, NJ. 

Dr. Harmer currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians (NJSOP).   He has worked as a member of the Advisory Board of Omni Eye Services and served as a member of the Clinical Director Advisory Group for TLC Vision. He was formerly the Clinical Director for TLC Vision Northern New Jersey.

Dr. Harmer is a valuable educator for the optometric community and has shared his clinical expertise in dry eye disease and refractive surgery co-management.  Dr. Harmer is a highly sought after speaker, and frequently lectures to optometric physicians nationwide. 

Dr. Harmer is recognized as one of the area’s most experienced optometrist in the management of patients who suffer from Dry Eye Disease.  He is committed to serving the needs of patients who suffer from Dry Eye and Ocular Surface Disease. Dr. Harmer sees patients only by referral from other primary care eye doctors.
