Dr. Napolitano received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1987 as an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He served as Administrative Chief Resident during his senior year as a general ophthalmology resident at New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Napolitano then completed a two-year fellowship at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Napolitano is a board certified in the field of ophthalmology and a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and a member of the Operation Blessing International’s Flying Hospital flight crew. Dr. Napolitano has participated in multiple international medical missions. As a member of the surgical team performing eye surgery on the specially converted L-1011 jumbo jet he has participated in seven missions to eight cities around the world. He has lectured and shared expertise with ophthalmologists in several outstanding eye institutes including the world famous Microsurgical Eye Institute in Kiev, Ukraine. Other Flying Hospital missions he has participated in have included Mexico, India, Kazakhstan, Brazil, El Salvador, and Ecuador.

Dr. Napolitano has accepted an invitation to work on an international committee of eye care professionals, epidemiologists and medical educators formed by the International Special Olympics. They have been charged with producing a Global Curriculum to improve the evaluation and treatment of special needs children. The program will be used by teaching institutions around the world as a way to improve the level of vision care provided these challenging and to often neglected special needs patients.

Dr. Napolitano is one of the regions most experienced Pediatric Ophthalmologists and Strabismologist and cares for people with the latest treatments for ocular misalignments and eye movement disorders. He incorporates the adjustable suture technique in his care of many adults with strabismus for improved results.
