Dr. Mastrota graduated from New York University with a Masters of Science and completed her Optometry degree at SUNY College of Optometry in 1989. In 2007 she was honored as the SUNY Alumnae of the year.
Dr. Mastrota is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association and is on the Board of Directors of the Optometric Society of the City of New York.
Currently Dr. Mastrota is on the Editorial Board of
Contact Lens Spectrum, her columns focusing on Ocular Surface Disease. She is the author of the “Case In Point” series for the online journal
Optometric Physician. Her areas of special interest include Pseudoexfoliation Syndrome, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction and Ocular Surface Disease. She has lectured locally and nationally on these and other topics. She is a consultant to a number of companies in the ophthalmic industry.
Having formerly enjoyed association with other well-respected OD-MD practices, Dr. Mastrota is the Center Director of Omni Eye Surgery in New York City.
