With over twenty five years of experience in corneal and refractive surgery, Dr. Martin Fox has become a well recognized leader in his field. He brings expertise, innovation and surgical excellence to the Omni practice.
Dr. Fox was an honors graduate from Colgate University as well as Hahnemann Medical College, where he earned his Medical degree and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical society. After completing residency in Ophthalmology at Boston University Medical Center, Dr. Fox did fellowship training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the
New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he remains a member of the Corneal staff and performs much of his surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Castroviejo Corneal Society, the New York Medical Society and the American College of Surgeons. He has authored numerous scientific papers, developed and patented new surgical instrumentation and delivered lectures to his peers in yearly meetings of their professional societies.
As one of the country’s leaders in LASIK refractive surgery Dr. Fox has performed over 25,000 laser vision correction procedures. He is a medical director with TLC Laser Eye Centers where he was instrumental in the introduction of
Custom Wavefront and
Intralase Bladeless femtosecond technology. He has performed surgery on such notables as actress
Julianne Moore, makeup artist
Bobbi Brown,
Barry Cofield of the New York Giants and
Don Nash, executive producer of The TODAY Show. Dr. Fox has made numerous national television appearances including
Good Morning America and
The View, where he performed live LASIK surgery for host
Lisa Ling. He has provided laser vision correction for numerous physicians in the area including a multitude of eye physicians who recognize his reputation for excellence in surgical outcomes and safety.
In addition to laser vision correction, Dr. Fox is an expert in the treatment of Keratoconus with
INTACS intrastromal ring implantation and
Visian intraocular contact lenses ( ICL) for patients with near sightedness outside of the range for laser vision correction. He has provided these services for more patients than any other refractive surgeon in the metropolitan area. Most recently, Dr. Fox has introduced
